This course integrates physical literacy with health education to help students navigate the transitions of early adolescence. Students develop movement competence through varied activities while building the decision making skills necessary for mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Movement Fundamentals and Tactical Play
Students refine specialized movement skills and apply transition strategies in territory and invasion games.
Exploring offensive and defensive spacing in games like soccer, basketball, or ultimate frisbee.
Developing placement and trajectory skills to gain an advantage in sports like volleyball or badminton.
Analyzing body mechanics for power and accuracy in striking sports.

Personal Fitness and Body Systems
Students investigate how the body responds to physical activity and develop personalized fitness goals.
Understanding aerobic and anaerobic zones through heart rate monitoring and intensity tracking.
Learning safe techniques for resistance training and the importance of dynamic versus static stretching.
Creating a balanced weekly schedule that incorporates all components of fitness.

Mental Health and Emotional Resilience
Exploring strategies for managing stress, building self esteem, and supporting others in the community.
