This course prepares students for the rigors of the Singapore GCE A-Level General Paper by fostering critical consciousness and sophisticated communication. Students explore global and local issues through intensive cross-disciplinary analysis and argumentative writing to develop a matured personal voice.

01The Art of Argumentation
Foundational skills in logical reasoning and the construction of persuasive essays for Paper 1.
Students will learn to identify and formulate clear claims and supporting reasons in argumentative texts.
Students will learn to differentiate between strong arguments supported by evidence and weak arguments that lack sufficient backing or contain simple errors in reasoning.
Developing a nuanced thesis statement that clearly articulates the main argument and its scope.
