Foundation Languages (LOTE)
An introductory language program for Foundation students focusing on oral interaction and cultural awareness. Students develop basic communicative skills through play, song, and structured social interaction in the target language.

Greetings and New Friends
Students learn the essential social protocols of the target language, focusing on how to initiate and close simple interactions.
Learning standard greetings and farewells used in different parts of the day.
Introducing oneself and asking others for their names using simple sentence patterns.
Using essential manners such as please, thank you, and excuse me within the classroom context.

Numbers and Colors in My World
Students explore the visual and numerical world around them, identifying objects by their attributes.
Developing number sense and sequential counting skills in the target language.
Identifying and naming primary and secondary colors in the environment.
Using simple adjectives to describe the physical properties of everyday items.

Family and Home
Students share information about their immediate family members and the places where they live.
Identifying common rooms and furniture within a typical household.
Learning the names of common domestic animals and the sounds they make.

Body and Movement
Students use the target language to identify body parts and follow instructions for physical movement.
Naming head, shoulders, knees, and toes through song and game.

Food and Celebrations
Exploring the tastes and traditions of the target culture through food vocabulary and festive customs.
Naming common healthy foods and expressing likes and dislikes.

Students look at the natural world, including weather patterns and common animals found in diverse environments.
