5th Class
This course engages students in the work of the historian by investigating diverse civilizations and pivotal moments in Irish and world history. Students analyze primary sources and multiple perspectives to understand how the past shapes our contemporary world.

6th Class
This course guides 6th Class students through the complexities of Irish and global history using evidence based inquiry. Students develop critical thinking skills by analyzing primary sources and exploring the social, political, and cultural shifts that shaped the modern world.
Junior Cycle (1st-3rd Year)

1st Year
This course introduces students to the fundamental skills of the historian while exploring the social and cultural evolution of Ireland and the wider world. Students engage with evidence from the Roman Empire to the Middle Ages to understand how societies organize and change over time.

2nd Year
This course introduces young learners to the concept of change over time through personal, local, and national history. Students develop historical empathy and inquiry skills by examining artifacts, stories, and the lives of people in the past.

3rd Year
This course introduces Year 3 students to the skills of the historian through the study of local history, early Irish settlers, and the wonders of Ancient Egypt. Students develop chronological awareness and learn to use evidence to reconstruct the lives of people in the past.
Senior Cycle (4th-6th Year)

5th Year
This course guides Year 5 students through the complexities of ancient civilizations, the evolution of Irish society, and the impact of global exploration. Students develop historical empathy and critical thinking by analyzing primary sources and investigating the causal links between past events and modern life.

6th Year
This course explores the evolution of Irish society and its global connections from the 19th century to the modern era. Students investigate the impact of revolution, industrialization, and social change through evidence based inquiry and multiple perspectives.
