This Year 13 Accounting programme builds upon foundational financial principles to develop advanced analytical and evaluative skills. Students will explore complex financial accounting, management accounting, and ethical considerations within modern business environments. 01Advanced Financial Accounting
Students will master the preparation and analysis of complex financial statements for various business entities, including limited companies and partnerships.
Students will prepare and present financial statements for limited companies in accordance with international accounting standards.
An in-depth look at the formation, changes, and dissolution of business partnerships.
Techniques for calculating missing figures and preparing final accounts from incomplete financial data.

02Advanced Management Accounting
This unit focuses on internal decision-making, exploring standard costing, variance analysis, and capital investment appraisal.
Students will calculate and interpret material, labour, and overhead variances to assess business performance.
A comparison of traditional absorption costing with activity-based costing methods for overhead apportionment.
Evaluating long-term investment projects using techniques such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and payback period.

03Financial Analysis and Evaluation
Learners will develop the ability to critically evaluate the financial health of organisations using ratio analysis, cash flow statements, and budgeting.
Advanced calculation and interpretation of profitability, liquidity, efficiency, and gearing ratios.
Preparation and analysis of cash flow statements to assess the liquidity and viability of a business.
The process of preparing cash, production, and master budgets to facilitate planning and control.

04Ethics and Contemporary Issues in Accounting
An exploration of the ethical frameworks governing the profession, alongside the impact of technology and sustainability on modern accounting.
Exploring the fundamental principles of professional ethics, including integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality.
Analysing how cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and automation are transforming the accounting profession.
