Year 11 Legal Studies.
Year 11 Legal Studies develops students' understanding of the nature and functions of law through the examination of the law-making process, the legal system, and the Australian constitution. Students investigate how the law operates in practice, focusing on contemporary issues, human rights, and the relationship between justice, law, and society.

01The Legal System
An introduction to the fundamental concepts of law, the origins of the Australian legal system, and the mechanisms for law reform.
Explore the fundamental differences between customs, rules, and laws. Examine the concepts of justice, fairness, and the rule of law in Australian society.
Investigate the origins of Australian law, including the British common law system, statute law, and the Australian Constitution. Recognise the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customary laws.
